River Islands breaks ground on its fourth K-8 school, opening Fall 2026. The new campus will serve 1,080 students and expand River Islands Academies. About 100 people attended the groundbreaking of the fourth K-8 school in the River Islands Academies. The new campus, which is planned for a Fall 2026 opening, will accommodate approximately 1080 students and be located just past River Islands High School at the end of Branton Avenue.

The American Heart Association’s 209 Heart & Stroke Walk was an inspiring day filled with community spirit, survivor celebrations, and hope for a healthier future. All of the builders are well-known within River Islands, and all are adding to their array of floorplan designs, homes sizes and price ranges with these new collections.
The third annual Battle of the Badges softball game saw Lathrop Police Department defeat the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District 6–4 as the community enjoyed ballpark eats, Italian ice, raffles, and signed up for the 209 Heart & Stroke Walk. The Battle of the Badges returned for its third year in late May, bringing the fun as the Lathrop Police Department took on the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District in a friendly but fierce softball showdown.
River Islands and Lathrop Irrigation District unveiled ten Mainspring Energy linear generators, ushering in high-efficiency, low-carbon power, meeting California ISO requirements and paving the way for 100% renewable fuels. Lathrop Irrigation District has been providing electrical power to River Islands’ schools, residents, and commercial buildings since 2013. A public utility, LID was formed as an elected board made up of residents of River Islands, has no shareholders, and is not run for profit.
